ANTM

I've always been a massive fan of America's Next Top Model. I love the bitching, Sutan (everyones favourite make-up mogul), Miss Jay and of course the photoshoots.
I really wish that the UK version was as good but it just isn't. Lisa Snowdon never says "girl, you need to learn how to smile with your eyes" (irritating but amazing all at the same time), Louis and Huggy don't even compare to Miss Jay and Nigel Barker and the girls are so dull it hurts.

So,with the latest season (showing in the UK, a season behind the US - as usual) coming to an end this week, I thought I'd look back at some of my favourite models and photoshoots. I really loved the swimming pool shoot in Cycle 7 but I couldn't find pictures anywhere, definately one of my favourites too.

Adriane, Cycle 1

Analeigh, Cycle 11

Whitney, Cycle 10

Aminat, Cycle 13

Cycle 14, us Brits will have to wait another lifetime to watch this series

Tim Walker: The Best of 2009

Tim Walker is just incredible. His editorials remind me why I love fashion and in my eyes he rarely (if ever) puts a foot wrong. These are three of my favourite editorials of his: one from US Harper's, one from Vogue Italia and one from UK Vogue.

The photo's of our very own Georgia Jagger are stunning; it's unusual to see him work in black and white but it just proves that he's not a 'fantastical' fashion one trick pony.

US Harper's Bazaar, October 2009 (Tim Burton' Tricks and Treats)

Vogue Italia, August 2009 (Model: Georgia Jagger)

Vogue UK, November 2009 (Model: Malgosia Bela)

What are your favourite editorials from 2009? What will the new year have in store for us I wonder...

Runner Bean Plea

A couple of days ago I fell in love. The item in question is not a boy or even a pair of shoes, but a necklace. I don't usually wear necklaces so I somewhat surprised myself at my own choice of adoration. This is all good and well however I was stupid enough to forget where I saw said necklace and who designed it.

It is a silver pendant, in the shape of a green bean and I'm pretty sure it was worn by someone blonde in some sort of newspaper/magazine (if that helps?). In my search for the necklace of my dreams, I happened to come across a couple more cute pendants which I thought I'd share in exchange for knowlege of the the whereabouts of the runner bean.

Have you ever seen something and regretted not making a note of it? If you know where I can get the necklace, I'd be forever grateful!

On The 1st Day of Christmas...

Although I'm strongly opposed to any notion of Christmas before 1st December, I couldn't help but compile a wishlist of accessories.

Accessories are definately my guilty pleasure and although this is more of a dream wishlist, one can always hope. I really love the Lanvin cuff; to me it's such a statement piece and would have to be worn with a really clean and simple outfit (and of course skyscraper heels - my favourite).

From (top left) clockwise: Marc Jacobs bag £4,100, Chloe python tote £1,745, Lanvin embellished bird cuff £585, Burberry Prorsum platform pumps £395, Albertus Swanepoel faux-fur cossack £265, Marc by Marc Jacobs skull necklace watch £150.

In the run-up to Christmas I'll be posting weekly wishlists with my favourite items around at the moment. What is everyone else going to be wishing for this Christmas (aside from a mistletoe moment)?

Alice In Wonderland

So it's my best friends birthday party this Friday and I've been told to 'Indulge In My Inner Fantasy' - pretty much, fancy dress.
I've had ideas, some better than others (giant marshmallow anyone?) but when I remembered that Tim Burton's remaking Alice In Wonderland, I couldn't help but have a nosy. I'm really excited about this, not purely for the fact that the original Alice In Wonderland is genius, but because I love Tim Burton's work.

Here are some of my favourite images from the film - not due out until next year, sad times.
Johnny Depp - 'Mad Hatter'

Mia Wasikowska - 'Alice'

Michael Sheen - 'White Rabbit'

One of my favourite men, Stephen Fry, does the voice of Cheshire Cat (who else could be so perfect?!) whilst Anne Hathaway plays White Queen. It's literally a starfest of a film - Alan Rickman, Matt Lucas, Barbara Windsor (go Brits) and of course Mrs Burton, Helena Bonham Carter.

Whilst I can't wait for the film I still haven't thought of a decently fantastical costume for friday night, any suggestions?

CFDA / Vogue Fashion Fund Awards

Coco Rocha

Lily Donaldson and jewellery designer Waris Ahluwalia

Jessica Stam

Chanel Iman and Thakoon

Alexa Chung and Jason Wu

I particularly love Coco Rocha and Jessica Stam's outfits; they're two models who is my eyes always get it right. Coco really rocks the whole red lips / Morticia Adams-esque hair look - even though I did love her as a redhead.

Lady gone Gaga?

If there were ever a character to split the fashion realms, it would of course be Lady Gaga. I've never known a celebrity to create such a divide; she is literally like Marmite - you either love her or hate her.

I've always been a fan because she continuously comes out wearing something different - whether its designer or not.

However, her latest public outing at MOCA's 30th Anniversary Gala has left me a little confused. I'm not so keen on the Frank Gehry hat (it's a bit too papier-mache for my liking) and the bodice looks like Christopher Straub's newspaper creation from series 6 of Project Runway.

But (and there's always a but) I love the chandelier inspired Prada skirt and the eccentric blue make-up. Blue make-up - whether it be on lips or eyes - always reminds me of young children trying out eyeshadow for the first time, but I think she wears it well.

Overall, I'm still not 100% on this look, but no one's perfect.
