Milan Fashion Week: Fendi SS11

The blogging hiatus is officially over! Following what I can only describe as the most hectic month of my life, I am back and it seems it couldn't have been more perfectly timed. London Fashion Week pretty much passed me by entirely (I attended one show that unfortunately happened to be rather rubbish, I'm looking at you PPQ), which is a shame seeing as I actually live here.

However, Milan has caught my eye, or more specifically Karl Lagerfeld has - it was only a matter of time before I was entirely seduced by Fendi all over again...

I'm not usually a colour girl, black suits me just fine and its been a great friend over the years, but if anyone is going to get me wearing the stuff, it's Papa K. The contrast between bursts of colour and sober neutrals is so perfect, plus those sunglasses are to-die-for.

At first glance, I wasn't all that taken with the collection, it looked a bit frumpy and for want of a better word, wrong. However, the accessories and minor detailing really do make it brilliant. There are some great pieces which I can see everyone worth knowing about wearing and I literally can't wait for these watches to hit the stores.

And if that wasn't enough to get me drooling, Karl threw a bit of Abbey in for good measure. On a more serious note though, how did I miss this change of hairstyle??! I know people have their reservations about the new 'do', many being that she definitely now looks like a crack addict, but I love it. Of course.

Does Fendi make you weak at the knees? Also, are you for or against Abbey's hair, it's sort of strange seeing her so pale but I'll get used to it, roll on Chanel...

Cheryl Cole? In Vogue? I don't think so...

I ordinarily look forward to Vogue coming through the front door but in recent months I'd rather it didn't; it's gotten so god damn boring.

It's either Kate Moss or a sold-out-celebrity-looking-for-extra-publicity-on-their-latest-straight-to-DVD blockbuster. Ok so I'm exaggerating a little but seriously, considering it's supposed to be the fashion Bible, where is the fashion? Not only does this cover offend me with it's horrid flowers/summer palette/awful graphics but Cheryl Cole is more Cosmopolitan than Vogue ("Exclusive Update" - who gives a shit?!).

Anna would never let this see light of day let alone publish it and Grace would probably (or already has) have a fit at the mere sight of it. Don't get me wrong, I love a bit of Cheryl but this is not cool. Patrick Demarchelier should know better too, because lets be honest, the editorial is just as terrible as the cover.

I don't think there's much else to say other than if someone ever vomits near me, I have suitable cleaning material. Amen.

Levi's Curve ID

Jean shopping - what a 'mare. The very thought of it makes me want to die a little so I was slightly sceptical about Levi's new line, the Curve ID. Turns out I had nothing to worry about - they feel and fit like a complete dream.

Designed to your shape rather than your size, you'll either need the Slight Curve (little bums), Demi Curve (normal bums) or the Bold (big bums, e.g. me) and with the super cute Pixie Geldof, Lykke Li and Miss Nine fronting the ad campaign, they get the thumbs up from me.

To celebrate the Curve's launch, Levi's held a stonker of a party at Studio Valbonne - think open bar, mini-snacks and all the trendy celebs you can think of in one place. Admittedly the open bar got the better of me (they usually do) but everyone had a great time, thanks Levi's!

Blake Lively does Interview

Whilst on holiday I lost all sense of reality, being in Barcelona is not like real-life - it's so much better. I'm still not quite ready to go back to being normal again, so what better way to evade than look at images of Blake Lively?

Shot by Craig McDean for the latest issue of Interview, Blake looks stunning. Admittedly I prefer her Gossip Girl co-star Leighton Meester because a) she isn't Anna Wintour's lapdog and b) she's not preened and polished to within every inch of her tiny self but this is still a beautiful editorial.

When my life regains some sort of normality I will post something a little more substantial, but until then the September issue of Interview is out on August 31st.

Who do you prefer, Blake, Leighton or their Upper East Side characters Serena and Blair?

Spotlight: Agyness Deyn

Oh Agyness, what happened? It's not like she can excuse the shaved head as being the result of a mental breakdown and she does look as though she's on day release from somewhere pretty insane, but my god isn't it beautiful?

This editorial shot in New York's East Village shows she is still striking as ever and although I was one of the fickle ones who got bored with the whole bleached-crop-and-DM's routine quicker than you can say Albert Hammond Junior (don't deny it, you did too), I do still think she's amazing.

It's like one glorious flashback from the 90's (my favourite decade) and although I hated the shaved head to begin with, it's kind of growing on me. The styling, although quite predictable, suits her new 'do' to perfection and she's hit Spotlight status for proving that she's more than just a fad (I'll forgive and forget the fact that she left England for America and that she's donning Cheetos not Wotsits...)

The bottom image could be one of my favourite photo's this year so far, for lack of a better (less pretentious) word, it's captivating and as Gok would say - that cable knit is "bang on trend". Do you still love Agyness regardless of what crispy snack she prefers?

Cover Up

Everyone watched Lady Gaga's meteoric rise to stardom-hood at the beginning of this year but seriously, other than a couple of scantily-clad football game attendances - where has she been hiding?

At Vanity Fair getting naked and wearing ill-fitting wigs, it seems.

If this was anyone else I'd probably hate it (I'd definitely hate it in fact) but it isn't and OK so it's boring and she looks like she's taken a bunch of drugs but I'm glad to see her again. Weirdly it makes me want to do a Kelly Osbourne and dye my hair some strange shade of lilac and then paint my nails to match - but isn't that part of Gaga's (Osbourne is way less cool) appeal? Yes, is the answer.

I was going to write about the September Issue of UK Vogue which arrived on my doorstep this morning, but it was all battered up and featured Kate Moss on the cover AGAIN which made me too annoyed to even consider - I told you Vogue, I'm bored of seeing Moss on the cover, regardless of how beautiful she is.

And she really is beautiful, but still...Excessive cover star or just a super super model?
