Style Envy: Frida Gustavsson

I'm a bit of a nerd when it comes to off-duty model style: I'd quite happily spend hours looking at street-style websites ogling at images from various fashion weeks. Stockholm Fashion Week doesn't officially kick-off until Monday but the brilliant Craig Arend from Altamira has already captured this gorgeous photo of one of the most stylish models around, Frida Gustavsson.

From top to bottom: Prada, House of Harlow 1960, Miu Miu, House of Harlow 1960 and Thierry Lasry

The black tailored jacket and cropped trousers are a models style-staple - the statement necklace and oversized sunnies just add that certain je ne said quoi that us ordinary folk don't always pull off so stylishly. With Stockholm and then New York Fashion Week just around the corner, we're going to be seeing a lot more images like this and I for one can't wait. Do you have a favourite model and are you excited about Fashion Week?

Silver Fox

Don't worry, I'm not going to go all comic geek on you (google Silver Fox if you're a little baffled), instead, after my somewhat prolonged absence from the world of blogging I decided to get back into the swing of things with a rather beautiful photo of Ashley Smith. If you've read Bang Bang You're Dead before, you'll know I became kind of obsessed with Ashley about this time last year and I'm still fascinated.

I know Ashley splits opinion across the board - I've even heard people say she's too big/short, but I think she's gorgeous and am glad to see she's still going strong in fashion. This photo is from Muse Magazine's summer issue and although I'm still not 100% on the whole metallic thing, I think this editorial is stunning.

Now, I wouldn't usually condone the wearing of metallic jackets, or anything metallic for that matter, but having scoured the internet I have come to the conclusion that it isn't actually so bad - well, silver isn't anyway. These 3 bags are as far as I'd go with the trend (I'm still stuck in a colour rut) so I'm kind of intrigued how everyone else would do it? Accessories are always the cheats way out but unless you want to look like some dodgy 80s throwback, then it's probably also the safest.

What do you think? Hopefully I'll be able to get back on track with blogging (I blame too much beer and not enough sleep for lack of posts), I'm currently waiting to hear back from an interview I had last week so fingers crossed people!

Kudos

At the beginning of the month we saw our long-lost English-rose Keira Knightley attending the Laurence Olivier Awards Nominess Luncheon Party (bit of a mouthful) in a gorgeous outfit courtesy of Miu Miu.

And to the Awards ceremony which took place last night she wore Erdem. I must say that I'm actually really impressed.

Keira in Miu Miu

Her red carpet style has always been quite good aside from a couple of 'what was she thinking' moments (at least she's not like Kristen Stewart who has completely dropped off of my 'cool list' thanks to recent red carpet horrors). I think she looks great in Erdem - she's got that willowy frame needed to wear silk and she kept the hair and accessories simple, giving the dress all the attention.

Although she does look fab, I'd really like to see her wearing something from Fendi AW10 this year. I loved the collection but was in two minds about which celebrities could/would wear it and after Keira's recent comeback, I'm positive that she's the girl.

What do you think about Keira's recent comeback? After getting completely sick of her following the success of Atonement/Pirates of the Carribean, I'm actually glad to see her out and about again and in style too. What would you like to see her wearing over the course of this year?

Best Dressed...

I've really become more of a dress girl this past year. I used to live in jeans and only ever wore dresses for occasions because I thought they were too girly. However, recently there have been so many dresses that I LOVE, its hard to avoid them any more.

I'm never going to be a prom dress kinda girl because I'm too scruffy and just can't handle the idea of having to keep something clean. I've just ordered myself a basic black jersey maxi-dress from ASOS which I'm sure I'll have fun accessorizing (I'm thinking boots, leather jacket and rings). Here are just a couple of outfit ideas I thought were cute - I'm pining for a nice mac and this one is lovely although I doubt it's an outfit I'd realistically wear.

The second outfit is definately something I'd wear and I love that burgandy colour with grey and black.

LFW Street Style

Whilst sitting around waiting for shows to start I indulged in a little street style snapping. The boys are really stepping up their fashion game as you can see from the pictures below.

Digging the poncho (the oh so tousled hair and unshaven face are also quite nice).

Love love love the fur coat and glasses, definately something I'd like to see more boys wearing.

I was mad about Rick Owens and Gareth Pugh AW09, so this outfit is definiately a fave. The shaven head is possibly a bit scary, but on the whole, a brave look.

Straight from the Nicole Farhi show and I adore the fur collar (so much so I now own one myself) and lace leggings. The Miu Miu bag compliments the look, not too gothic but not too pretentious.

I love this look from head to toe. The Vivienne Westwood boots and necklace, the Ray Bans, the gorgeous orange hair and beret - it all works so well together. Of all the ladies, this is easily my favourite.
