No Explanation Needed

The shoes. The detail. The clothes. I'm lost for words, quite literally. McQueen has done it again. I'm already obsessing over shoes which I'll never be able to afford, but, isn't that the point?

"McQueen's message throughout was essentially sunk into the short dress—a steady development of his engineered sea-reptile prints, worked into a nipped-waist, belled-skirt silhouette. The colors—first green and brown, moving to aqua and blue—were exceptionally executed and swagged, and molded across panniered structures. Each dress was a work of computer-generated art crossbred with McQueen's couture-based signature cut." - style.com

Jenny Saville is an artist I love and respect. Her giant-sized paintings address some really contraversial issues and are incredible to look at. Although her images have been nuked by art students the world over, I wanted to share the love with anyone unfamiliar.

These are just a few of my favourite portraits, however, you should check out her other stuff for the monumental scale of her work.

New York, New York

Paloma Faith was always only ever in my peripheral vision. Now she's in my rear-view mirror and she's definitely someone I'm going to keep my eye on.

The British red-head has a completely soulful voice, think Winehouse injected with pop (and minus the drugs), and she has a really dark 50s vibe about her. As always, I'm late on the get-up, but I do love these photos.

(you might recognise 'I Just Wait' from those government ads about drinking, what was it? "You wouldn't start a night like this, so don't end it like this")

Night Walking

I'm not going to lie. I became obsessed with the Twilight books over the Summer (by obsessed I mean read-the-entire-series-in-a-week obsessed). I never, however, watched the film and drooled over Robert Pattinson or hated Kristin Stewart because she drooled over him.

So last night I finally watched the film and was really unimpressed. I can't pinpoint my disappointment but it just wasn't as epic as it was in my head. I don't really fancy Robert Pattinson (more Edward) but Issue 9 of AnotherMan might convince me otherwise, especially when shot by Hedi Slimane.

Featuring the Twilight teen, Tim Blanks, David de Rothschild, Sam Taylor-Wood and a whole host of fashion stories, the latest issue is out tommorow.

LFW Street Style

Whilst sitting around waiting for shows to start I indulged in a little street style snapping. The boys are really stepping up their fashion game as you can see from the pictures below.

Digging the poncho (the oh so tousled hair and unshaven face are also quite nice).

Love love love the fur coat and glasses, definately something I'd like to see more boys wearing.

I was mad about Rick Owens and Gareth Pugh AW09, so this outfit is definiately a fave. The shaven head is possibly a bit scary, but on the whole, a brave look.

Straight from the Nicole Farhi show and I adore the fur collar (so much so I now own one myself) and lace leggings. The Miu Miu bag compliments the look, not too gothic but not too pretentious.

I love this look from head to toe. The Vivienne Westwood boots and necklace, the Ray Bans, the gorgeous orange hair and beret - it all works so well together. Of all the ladies, this is easily my favourite.

LFW ISSA

Karolin Wolter

Chanel Iman

Abby Lee

Laura Blokhina
Daisy Lowe

Naomi Campbell

Issa was, well, incredible. I was left speechless on more than one occasion and not just because of the collection. I'm a self-confessed Abby Lee addict so when she walked through the door I almost had a heart attack. The same goes for Coco Rocha, Chanel Iman and of course the formidable Naomi Campbell.

When I'm able to actually write anything useful or coherant regarding Issa and Fashion Week in general more posts will ensue. I am still starstruck / speechless.

LFW Nicole Farhi

Constance Jablonski

Kamila Filipcikova, Bette Franke and Sara Blomqvist

Anastasija Kondratjeva

Tao Okamoto

Coco Rocha

Chanel Iman

Backstage at Nicole Farhi was so unbelievably relaxed in comparison to yesterdays shows. The clothes were also much more conservative however I loved both of Chanel's looks.

The horrid cliche words, classic and wearable spring to mind although it would have been nice to see an injection of excitement.
